Without Fear or Favor
Inequality in courtrooms is simply injustice masquerading as justice. Justice does not dwell where there is inequality. If then, there are differing standards, there is in fact no system of justice, but instead a system of injustice. That is what we currently have in Clayton County Superior Court. When standards, rules, and parameters of justice are not applied equally to all, I draw the line. When courts dispense with all notions of fairness, justice and integrity, I run — that is my why. I choose to defend justice. My integrity simply does not allow any other option. There can be no justice based on fear of retribution to the judge and/or his friend and colleague. Similarly, there can be no justice based on what personal favor the judge, his family, or his friends and/or colleague will receive. Facts and law alone must determine outcomes in legal arenas. Judges must commit to justice without fear or favor, which I do unequivocally, and unapologetically.
